Go to a Wifi Hotspot(ex. Wendy's, Panera Bread, anywhere with wireless Internet access). Turn on your DS. At the very beginning when a random person from your town asks you what you want to do, choose "Other Things". From there, go to "Wi-Fi Settings". Say that you want to start Wifi Configuration. Once you do that, you will go to a screen that says "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Setup". Choose the big blue button that says "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings". After that, choose one of the 3 buttons that says Connection 1, 2, or 3(It doesn't matter which one unless you already have a connection set up on that connection). Once you have choosen a connection, choose the button that says "Search for an Access Point". Your DS will start looking for a connection. Once it has found one, exit out and go back to Animal Crossing. Go talk to Copper and ask him for a Friend Code. He will give you one, but it's pretty long. After he gives you a Friend Code, go to your menu and touch the tab at the top of the screen that has a heart on it. It will say your name, your city, and your friend code!
