This is my method.

Have one of your dogs wear the red collar, after a while a siren will sound. Your dogs will notify you by howling. As soon as this happens take your dog with the highest stamina out for a walk wearing the Lucky Collar and draw a path through as many '?' as you can. This increases your chances of obtaining the firemans hat by a lot. I have found 3 fireman hats in seperate walks using this method.

to have a better chance of getting the firemens hat your dog should be wearing something red and full and quenched and beautiful and wait till you hear the sirane then go on a walk
