In NFSMW you will notice that while driving an Auto, as it's about to shift into the next gear it goes up a bit in the red section of the speedo before it actually shifts. Even though it's not much, it's still counted as an over-rev and causes you to lose speed! So if you drive a Manual you can shift as soon as the hand touches the red, even a bit early and get a big advantage over the computer and it's never-ending over-rev's. Also in real life Manual is really easy to learn. When you get your license and you drive a Manual compared to an Auto you'll never want to drive another Auto again! Manuals are easier to fix, safer, faster, better handling and you can do awesome tricks in them like heres a few examples:

Double Shuffle (Double Clutch): Say your in 2nd gear. Wait until your Rev's reach a high point (say 6000RPM) then slam the clutch in and shift into 3rd gear but rev the accelerater further more to say 7000RPM before releasing the clutch. This results in a mad sounding, mad feeling burst of speed.

Granny Shift: While in any gear, at the right time shift to the next gear and hold the clutch in for a longer period of time than needed. so instead of 3rd gear, shift, 4th gear continue... its like 3rd gear...clutch..........4th gear.

Compression: Can be done on a straight or on a turn. while in any gear from 3 or up, double down-shift (and turn in direction or curve if at a turn) This will lock the breaks on until appropriate speed is reached by the vehicle in the gear you have double down-shifted into. no breaking needed!

Light Rev: This is the main reason for the manual! REV IT ANYWHERE! while at lights, stopped anywhere or even still moving all you have to do is push the clutch to the floor and you can rev it up!

Manuals better than Autos? I rest my case...
