Expanding on the first Tenkaichi in just about every way possible, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 combines action, fighting and role-playing game elements into a storyline that spans the entire Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT series. The game will feature over 100 playable characters (including many that have never been in a DBZ game before), 15 massive and destructible environments and nine different play modes.

Many of the game's missions are ripped straight from the TV show, allowing fans the ability to relive their favorite DBZ moments or take characters into custom battles that they'd never see on the show. An assortment of mini-games and tag-team fights expand upon the main story mode, and the ability to post customized character codes on the Internet hints at immense replayability.

The Revolution build will obviously take advantage of Nintendo's unique controller for added functionality.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is scheduled for release in October for PlayStation 2. It is not yet known if the Revolution build will debut alongside it, but if we had to guess, we'd say yes.

THE FOLLOWING SCREEN IS FROM THE PS2 VERSION ... NOT NECESSARILY INDICATIVE OF THE NINTENDO REVOLUTION VERSION

Ok, they finally made an official website for it, although the most part of it is in japanese. Link

If you watch the Flash Movie you will clearly see some of the new charcters such as Lord Slug and others. The site is still to be updated.

May 11, 2006 - This year is truly the year of Dragonball for American audiences. Not only are we getting a port of the stellar Super Dragonball Z from the arcades, we're also getting a sequel to what's possibly the best Dragonball game on the market, Budokai Tenkaichi 2. The follow-up to the best-selling title, Tenkaichi 2 promises to be bigger and better than last year's installment.

This year's iteration is proving to be pure fan service, with over a hundred playable characters planned. In the E3 demo, only six characters were playable, but each had at least three different forms. For example, Goku had his regular form, and his various Super Saiyan forms, while Vegeta also had these forms plus his Maijin form. The demo that we played on the showfloor is the same as the pre-E3 build that we played earlier this month, so there weren't any new wrinkles to sort out.

One thing we want to emphasize is that the scale of the battles are still wonderfully gigantic. You can knock enemies several kilometers away with a single energy blast, and performing combos with your charge attacks is totally satisfying. The best addition to the sequel is the ability to change form in mid-fight, so you can charge up with Goku, then transform into Saiyan form and perform Instant Transmission.

There's nothing more to say that the preview hasn't covered yet, but the game is looking extremely good, and it'll be a big treat for anime fans everywhere when the game is released later this year.

The games has 9 modes, they will hopefully tell us what they all are. The "Create a character" is one that I'm hopeing and they will ahev a much better story mode this time.

I just can't wait till the game comes out. More updates are arriving in june at IGN.
