I'm pretty sure you have to just raise it with a bad character i.e. Shadow, Rouge, or Dr.Robotnik. Nothing else. Unless you already tried it and it didn't work.

1 time i got a green shadow chao but i want a red shadow chao and maybe with 6 spikes like the real shadow
