It does work but only with a charecter its been exposed to enougfh!
Like if you feed it alot witha certain charecter or pet it alot then it will work!

must be extreme outrageous love to the character cause i have 2 chao i petted and fed like way too much for all 15 years of their lives and all 4 years of their previous lives. there have been ocasions of half hour nonstop petting. it still doesnt work for me.
