You get the metal detecter from Frankie the guy in the penthouse, from a mission where u have to get 3 metal bars, after u get the mission u go buy the metal detecter at the store.
You can get your hotel rating up by building rooms.

i have no clue how to get the metal bars where in the desert do u get the bars? i have looked everywhere and they dont turn up I HAVE NO CLUE AND YOU KNOW WHAT I NEED HEL[P NOW

go to the place where you put the rods to power the lights go up to the furnace and it should come up with charge the detector

If you have the black metal dtector it doesnt work youll have to wait untill one of ur guests gives u a mission and a new one will be 4 sale at the store

Hi, Sorry to tell you but there is no way to last forever in the dessert. BUT! You can last longer by bringing food and drinks with you and drinking/eating them when your sanity goes down. It doesnt make a lot of difference but it will help you get out before you die. Hope this has helped you 😵
