um i don't think you can get married but you could have a girlfriend in the original animal crossing so I hear...

i have the previouse animal crossing and for somereason 3 gamecubes and 2 copies of it...
anyways you cant have a girlfriend in the other one and the people in this game were probably just foolin around...
