The one post here was just deleted it seems. It posted something about Player.setGold but the python interpreter wouldn't accept that one. I followed that post and edited the config file to say "CheatMode = chipotle" and not "CheatMode = 1" (the = 1 wouldn't give me a console). The only command I know so far is:
It does work. After you set "CheatMode = chipotle" in the ini it will enable the console in the game by pressing the "~". Then in the console if you type "Player.setGold 0 1000000" it will increase youre gold to that much giving you a huge advantage in the game. At one point in the game you can start to pay to have your buildings construction completed faster by paying to have it completed instantly. As for the other commands available in the console, I didnt find them too useful. If you want a complete list of commands available you can type "Console.CreateDocumentation CommandList.txt" and it will generate the list of console commands for you in the games directory.
As for why they deleted the past post about it here really confuses me.
Still not having any luck with this code. The shortcut for _Civ4Config points to the CivilizationIV.ini in my saved game directory. I've made the changes with both spellings from the main cheat page and this forum: Move along CheatCode = chipolte and Move along CheatCode = chipotle. I still can't get a console by hitting the ~ key. Anyone else having this problem?
