I have just finished playing in Mercenary mode and have just begun playing again in veteran mode.
When I get to the 1st Morden tower and break the cage, I have no option to pick up a cage fragment. I have tried hitting Z to collect all, reinstalled the game and patching to v2.2 with no luck.
If I cant pick this cage fragment up to complete the task I cant continue the game at all. Shame really cos the game has been a blast so far!
Anyone else had this happen? Any work-arounds?

lol. i would like to call you a nub far worst then a newbie. but that would be mean. if that doesn't work why don't you go to the normal stage get the torch. and save game. then make a veteran game , and have the torch from the normal game. saves you the trouble of picking up stuff.

I was not allowed to use the torch from an earlier tower without smashing the cage and clicking on the remains. Then it would let me light the torch

did you takl to the lady person at the first morden tower? maybe if you try playing on multiplayer and picking it up then. iff that doesnt work i got no clue...yet

Im having the same problem, I've tried every thing i can think of and all of your sugestions, but nothing is working. so any help would be appreciated.

did u hit the cage

1.) attack the cage
2.) select any character to grab a piece of cage fragment
3.) equip the cage fragment on any hero
4.) light the cage fragment from the fire
5.) lit the towers

Oh, and this goes for Finala's quest.

did u click on the cage once u broke it, coz it wont work if u dont
