He does..listen closely in Halo 1, when you reach the bridge and meet Captain Keyes..He does say it, but I have no idea about the rest of the story, but the master chief does say "How are you?", and Cortanas reply is also completely correct...

There are actual books AWgod. I have read the first, but I can't get my hands on any of the others, even in bookstores...

wow you ppl are WAYYY off. first off, the kids that where in the project werent KIDNAPPED they where taken in by the military. Second, MC isnt a Cyborg, Robot, or Android. He's a HUMAN. He had this huge operation that altered his bones and a drug that increased his ability to run and increased his senses. Other than that, the Master Chief is all human. The suit fools everyone. It's a suit that fits to him perfectly developed by the UNSC to increase his reflexes even more. Leading me to my last point, he's not in the NAVY, he's not in the ARMY either. He's part of the UNSC. United National Space Core. You people really need to get the facts straight.
