well if any one wants to know the truth here it is before the first halo cortana the hologram was int the military she was takin g master chief who wasnt half robot yet she was driving him to a base when they were flipped of a cliff by the covenant their was a regular scout that patroled the base he found the wreck and cortana was dead master chief was alive but unconsious he drug him back to the camp and they fixed him up and they turned cotana into the hologram and if you start the first mission on halo 1 you can hear masterchief say to cortana after she asked him "how are you " or some thing like that he repplies "fine no thanks to your driving"
roflmao!!! thanks little man, ive been having a really bad day, but now i can't stop laughing! ahh... oh, and randomly, i'd like to point out to u that its actually the navy, not the army, not that there's actually a shred of truth to what you've said cept for the last bit... and she's not a hologram, she's a holographic AI system AND u kinda got it right, cortana was actually based on a dead person, well, they were alive when they based cortana on them, but then they died... was the scientist who made her... she based cortana's personality n stuffs on herself
