This thread has been resurrected many times and has done no one any good. Leave it alone. Plus, I believe he means asking questions about playing the game, not spawning things.
You probably are typing it incorrectly, or it doesn't exist.
If you are typing give flaregun, then type give weapon_flaregun or give weapon_flare_gun.

i got another question i just got gmod (Garrys Mod) and i was wondering if there was a way 2 spawn new weapons like ak47 ect. i have seen these weapons for gmod on youtube but cant seem 2 figure out how 2 spawn them so if u have info itl be a big help thanks

If you have Counter Strike: Source, you can spawn them through the weapons menu. If you don't, I'm afraid you're SOL.
In other words, if you don't have it, you can't.
