The only way you get to play a Jedi is if you buy the Hero bonus when you're playing the galactic conquest version. Then you will get to play one on certian worlds..

Heroes for the Rebels Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie
Heroes for the Republic Obi-Wan, Mace, Yoda, Alaya Secura
Heroes for the Empire: Vader, The Emperor, Boba Fett
Heroes for the Confereracy: Anakin, Dooku, Jango Fett

You only get to play them though for as long as the blue blade of the lightsaber on the bottom of the screen is extended. Once it disappears the Hero retreats from the field.

There is also a game in the listing for playing only the heroes in which case you can play that map alone with a Jedi character.

Yea, That's battlefront 2.
You can't do that in the first one.

Enemey forces have captured a command post.
