+ using the auto chips? I just want to enjoy the story. I've got a gamestop ps4 edition but if it's just a case of moving my character and there not being any skill involved, I'll take it back and get it on pc.

play on normal not easy, makes the benefits of using the trainer become more apparent, also easier to backup games from a PC, but do some research on the steam discussion page (steamcommunity.com/app/524220/discussions/) b4 u make ur mind up.
Hope this helps.

if you play on easy and use the auto chips, the battle basically fight themselves. i REALLY like that. looks awesome and you can still take over if you feel like it. (or just put down the controller and get some snacks)
you can also change what you want to have automated. i found that having the auto-dodge enabled almost makes you invincible in fights, unless you are up against an enemy that is a way higher level than you or of you really, REALLY try to get hit.
i've chose the easy treatment for my first playthrough and will decide after that how i wanna continue.
but to answer your question directly: no, you don't need the trainer, if you play on easy with auto chips. except for maybe monies and free upgrades.
its so fast it can do an infinite loop in thirty seconds!! =)

I am using it for Free Upgrades and Plug-In Chip Storage. Other options don't seem necessary to me. Pod Upgrade would be nice tho.
