That's a shame. I downloaded the trainer to test as I haven't played the game in a while and everything works fine.
I think the main problem with some people with this trainer is they don't read the text file instructions, it obviously works a little different with the activating of the console before activating the cheat options. Some people probably think every single trainer works the exact same way and don't read instructions carefully, it must be frustrating for you guys sometimes.
Maybe if you put in big bold red letters on the trainer download page - "For the following Trainer to work, you need to engage the
CONSOLE in the game. To do that, hold CTRL and press the TILDE key. The console will open up. You can then press the key
below to engage the option. Note that without our trainer, these
commands won't work. Close the console the same way you opened it.
But who knows maybe that wouldn't work either. Some people just refuse to read instructions, or maybe can't. I don't like seeing trainers being retired due to user stupidity, but I understand the decision.
Very well phrased

Well actually the commands do still work even without the trainer. It's just a hassle to memorize the commands. And to type the words.
Well anyways, I personally think that the report system should be changed to include a mandatory note on why the person believes that the trainer isn't working. Because some people tend to hit report as soon as a new update comes out. And it would help the people in charge of the trainers to be aware of what to look for, so they can identify whether it was a person problem that could include followup or whether it is an actual problem. It would be easier to identify a troll from an actual problem.
I only say the follow up because for the No Man's Sky trainer, I personally had a problem where massive credits didn't work yet all the other options did. I had to personally find out the problem because I was reprimanded for posting a false report.
