UPDATE: It looks like the SW2 trainer never had the Invalid Trainer User fix applied to it (which only affects like 0.01% of our userbase for some reason). Previously fixed trainers like Mafia 3 still work fine and do not throw the error. We will recompile the SW2 trainer in the morning which should fix the issue. Just a note that your issue is NOT the same as the previous user above you, he is experiencing this with ALL CH trainers which is an unrelated issue that we are trying to work through.
On my machine (Windows 10 x64 v1607 build 14393.321), when I have a trainer that throws the Invalid Trainer User, I can just close it out, run it again and then it authenticates fine. I also found if I reboot and disable Windows Defender realtime and cloud scanning before running the trainer it also runs fine (or run it from an excluded folder). Other users reported similar fixes (along with using an offline key) while some were never able to get past it until we applied a fix to the way certain trainers were compiled.

Turning off the cloud based protection did the trick. Thank you.

We compiled a new version of the latest SW2 trainer which should resolve the Invalid Trainer User issue. You can re-download if interested.

1. Operating System - Windows 10 Professional 2. AV software if any, especially Windows Defender - I had Windows Defender, but disabled per it previous posts in this list 3. Have you tried an offline key (internet/network must be completely unplugged) - Monthly subscriber, so I am not eligible for an offline key 4. Have you installed all recent Windows updates? - Yes. My machine reports fully up to date. 5. Have you tried uninstalling all windows updates prior to Sept 28th? - I can't, as Windows 10 won't allow removing the updates. 6. List of trainers that work and that don't work - Civilization 6

PM Caliber, he is the only one that can fix it at this point.

I just wanted to toss an idea in here as it just happened to me. I didn't read posts before this, so sorry if this was already suggested. But I always have a "Trainers" folder, and I just added that folder to exceptions in Windows Defender and everything loaded up ok.

Your issue affects all CH trainers because something on your PC, network or ISP is blocking the authentication process.
