• HTC Vive
Click on the 'VR Mode' button. Trainer options will now be drawn as buttons. Activate the trainer as usual with your keyboard. Put your HTC Vive on and when you are ingame press the 'Menu' button on the hand controllers to open the steam overlay. At the bottom you can click on the 'Desktop' button and you can easily press options on the trainer with your hand controller now.
• Oculus Rift
As of now the oculus has no unique input device and uses keyboard or xbox controller. Both are support by the trainer already.
• Windows 7 or above
• 64-Bit OS (32-Bit is NOT supported!)
• .NET Framework 4.6 or above: www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48137
• VC++ Redistributable 2015 (x86 AND x64): www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145
• DirectX9 for controller support: www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=34429
Except for one detail. I'm not 100% sure what happened but I have a best guess.
One possible upgrade is to disassemble any weapons into metal parts for crafting, which can be related to ammo since usually picking up the same weapon would add to your ammo. The choice being to disassemble or take for ammo.
Due to some kind of mishap in this regard, I now have a very high negative number of metal parts, which is a standard crafting ingredient.
So if you're using the trainer, and you see the prompt "Pick up [large number]" don't pick it up. It will mess with the game.
That said, any chance of a materials option?

It seems that the saved game I loaded, which had the infinite ammo option enabled at the time of saving, didn't like that option until I loaded the next level. I started out with some amazingly huge negative number of rounds, and even when I picked up a different weapon during the level, the ammo started to decrease as normal (with the option enabled, disabled, re-enabled, and trainer reloaded entirely), making me think it was busted. It started working again when I loaded the next level, however.
