On August 2, 2016 Microsoft pushed out their "Anniversary Edition" patch for all Windows 10 users. In doing so they removed one of the API functions that some of our trainers relied on. This is reminiscent of the Windows 8 release where Microsoft decided to change an API call that had been used since Windows 1.0 for no apparent reason.
Regardless, this new patch renders some of our trainers unable to run. If you double click on them, they may show up for a millisecond in the taskbar and then close.
We have identified and fixed the following trainers:
Dying Light Dead Rising 3 Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Shadow of Mordor Ryse: Son of Rome Wolfenstein: The New Order Watch Dogs Planetary Annihilation + TItans Metal Gear Ground Zeroes The Golf Club Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Thief Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Call of Duty: Ghosts The Evil Within Rogue Warrior Metro 2033 Redux Metro Last Light Redux Lords of the Fallen Assassins Creed Unity Banished
If you find any other trainers that need to be fixed, please list them in this thread. We don't anticipate a large number of trainers to be affected as it's only on our older trainer template and only for 64-bit games (which there were not a lot of while using the older template). The fix is simple on our end but the trainers must be recompiled and new version uploaded. Please note that we will get to them as quickly as possible and update the above list as fixes are released.
We again apologize for this inconvenience but we are at the mercy of Microsoft when they decide to make kernel changes for what appears to be no apparent reason or concern about the effect it has on the applications produced by developers.
UPDATE - AUGUST 21, 2016
THIS THREAD IS NOW CLOSED.
The last 50 reports or so have all been unrelated as users failed to read through previous reports about who the trainer maker is, are duplicate reports, or are all tested and working fine with the Windows 10 anniversary update. We're spending way too much time chasing our tails. I believe we have fixed the majority, if not all, of the titles affected by this particular issue. All other issue reports are most like due to Windows Defender being more aggressive towards trainers with the Win 10 update and are blocking them or it's simply something else from the troubleshooting guide.
If you believe you have found a trainee that is affect by THIS VERY SPECIFIC ISSUE AS OUTLINED IN THE FIRST POST, then you may report it in the official trainer thread for that title.
Thanks to those that actually read the first post and reported legitimate titles that needed updated.
