I have no desire to pay the price to M$ for their free OS 10. Loss of privacy and the cloud con which means "all your files belong to me (M$)". I have no desire for them to have my machine turn into their machine. The price we pay is having them sell our data to make the cash they didn't collect in the first place. It also rings the knell of the marketing OS era. They give it free for now, and already passed a gate that they were going to charge a fee monthly for it. Turns out they need to train the users that personal data is just a down payment, and as soon as that is done, some manager wanting a boost in bonus, will eventually kick in the fee structure they have been trying to push on people for years. There has been nothing free about 10 at all and never will be.

I am watching the development of Vulcan that will free Devs from the DirectX marketing ploy. There is a reason most all the major players have been developing this. Also, Imagine the slap in the face to the Win 7 users if M$ figures they have to relent and allow Ubuntu to tap DX12 into their version of Linux, but those holdouts with Win 7 who paid for it, get nothing. The whole implementation of Ubuntu BASH into Win10 is a marketing hedge in case people tire of this game M$ is playing to drive 10 down everyone's throats, and flock to Linux. To date M$ has refused to allow people to buy the OS to keep their privacy and dignity, all for the idea of smoothing out their cash flow, and solving the problem of figuring out how to add something to the OS to make it worth upgrading to.

Ever since the introduction of the 64bit OS, M$ has been on a campaign to curb the OS and hobble it to force people into the next OS release. Corporate users and other companies are wise to the games, when will consumers wake up to the shafting they have been getting? M$ has stuck their nose into the user's tent, how long till the hackers get wise to the purposeful holes into the OS, M$ has created for their own use? That whole new BIOS that was created to make users lives better has been snatched away by M$, just to prevent users from having control of their own hardware. "It now belongs to us" is the new M$ mantra, and some users actually think they got it free. Ben Dover because this is going to feel real good. (for U$)

If you are redownloading Classic Shell after updating, avoid Fosshub as it has been compromised and the installers there have malware.

Always check the digital signature of the installer before running in. In UAC, this shows up as the Verified Publisher (which Classic Shell should bear the name of the author as the Verified Publisher).
    Your bitterness, I will dispel

Hi tomcat2200, I read what you are saying and as daft as it sounds I total;ly agree with you in what you are saying about Microsoft my problem is and the general public as well who use Windows of all releases with the exception of XP and previous to 95 etc.

What I do not understand from your post is, Quote when will consumers wake up to the shafting they have been getting? M$ has stuck their nose into the user's tent. end Quote Just explain what Mr and Mrs Joe Public and the kids what can we do we are talking millions upon millions that use Windows, I question you with all respect but you make it sound real easy the options for change go ahead and convince us all what your solution to M$ is because I have not got a clue otherwise, just like that family of millions above.

I'e generally enjoyed it so far... there's been this weird screen glitch that makes my entire screen look broken, which hasn't been the greatest... hopefully they'll fix that?
