From what I have experienced the trainer works and the game does not crash except very rarely. What I do and seems to work is use it as normal, but prior to ending a turn or starting a battle I hit control H to deactivate the trainer. Once you load up the battle screen and prior to starting the battle you can hit control H again to reactivate and take advantage of the trainers battle features. Other than that turn it off, end turn, start it back up. It is actually easier than trying to remember to turn off or on single features, like the unlimited movement for example.
Anyways I hope this works for other.
Ct+H only disable the hotkey input, not the options.
Please consider that you add ALL OPTIONS OFF feasure, just like you did for Attila totalwar.
This feature really saved lots of crashes for me.
Last game update really *** this trailer. Been using this trailer since the release of the game and It worked all fine without crashing.

Completely unplayable with all the crash before entering the battlefield from campaing.
Even with no options enabled at all. as long as the trailer is activated.

Do you have a mod installed? AV running, something messing with the trainer? Cause thats not happening before EVERY battle. There has been a few occasions of crashing but this is happening to a lot of people not even using the trainer.
I've noticed that attacking an army in the field is a 90-100% crash rate, whereas attacking a garrison is like 50/50.
Also, where are the save files located? I want to submit one, but I guess I don't know what I'm looking at.
I don't know what your basing your % on, but I can play for hours, go into 100 battles, sieges, and not crash once.
Considering I play this pretty much daily, I would say it crashes maybe 1%, which would obviously conflict with your statement, and the trainer is always on.

It is at
C:\Users\win10\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Warhammer\save_games
For Win10. win7 is pretty much similar.
You may have to set folder option to tick 'Hidden Items' to see appdata folder
