There are Rune Trials scattered throughout the game; here's a Link to a list of them. Usually there are one or two trials per level but some levels have none, and after you find the 'entrance' ingame you can replay the trial from the main menu. They look like stone tablets sorrounded by green-ish fire. After you complete a trial, you are awarded a rune which you can upgrade; most are really easy to upgrade mostly because you can find a nice spot and do the ol' load checkpoint exploit.
The one I mentioned earlier is called Ammo Boost and can be found in Argent Energy Tower (Mission 5) and grants infinite ammo for basic weapons (which means anything that isn't the BFG or the Chainsaw) when you have 100 armor or more. It can be upgraded by collecting 500 ammo items, which is really easy to do, especially if you're using the trainer with Infinite Chainsaw turned on, and after you do the armor requirement drops to 75.
I'll send an 100% save soon and you can take a look at them.
All the best,

being able to replay from main menu would be helpful...
i am not even sure i reached mission 5 yet
seeing how the timers on these appear to be like 10 seconds or less, there isn't much time to try and debug and determine how the game does this..

Honestly, if you use the current trainer options correctly, trials become trivial. For instance you have 10 seconds to kill 10 monsters that each add 4 seconds to your timer. Turn on Easy Kills and you finish the trial with like 20-30 seconds to spare. Some are a bit harder though, there's one where you have to kill some imps while racing to the exit; I think that was actually the hardest one for me but still managed to finish it on my 3rd try. You only have the supa shotty but if you turn on Easy Kills you can just run in straight line as you don't have to get close to the imps to kill them in one shot (just one pellet from a distance will do).

Once you've touched the rune stone, it will appear on the main screen of your saved game. Just load your saved game slot and you will see Rune Challenge mode is unlocked. There you can play those challenges again and again.

Well the way you put it, they are a bit challenging but not over the top. I think that was the idea with ANY trial to begin with. To remove that issue with time is why we need the time extension option on the trainer. I mean think it this way, you could effectively chainsaw and get all the ammo (and not use the inf ammo option) using just the inf chainsaw option. But we don't do that, do we? Or how about inf armor, when you already have inf health enabled? If we have redundant but useful options like that (thanks to CH of course), then why not have an option to remove even that annoying "you are short on time, run quick" trials? That is why we use trainers, no? To enjoy and get past annoying issues. 😵
I tend to love timed events but now, it's just annoying. I don't want trial, I want runes. Heck give me a challenge of killing hell knights in waves, that would be more fun and challenging than "you have 2 sec to finish it, hurry" trials...😭
TL;DR: Want that damn trial time to not get in my way of killing. 😆
I'm having massive trouble with this trainer...
I download it, it works and opens fine but after I'm done and maybe come back a day later to use it, it just bogs my entire computer down, it doesn't open and I have to re-download it again.
It's crashes windows explorer every time I try to open it and even deleting it takes upwards of a minute... after I re-download it, it opens fine... I don't understand what is going on but I've had to do this several times now.
Is it a security check going haywire on your end? I noticed it happens to all your new trainers, even the Dark Souls III one... all your older trainers still open quickly and don't give me any issues... please fix this.
I used to have that issue with many trainers, though not with all of them. I think it has to do with your antivirus. I could be wrong. Also sometimes it has to do with your internet. Whatever the case maybe, make sure nothing is trying to interfere with your trainers.
First of all thank you for this drag.
I wonder if it would be possibe to add a type of option freeze timer during the runes challenges.
Thank you
I suggest you read a few posts above this one to find out how things are going as of now... 😋
