Hi Cal, I wanted to report I'm having the same issue. All the options seem to be working for me except the credits. I am running the GOG version of the game if that makes any difference.
trainer was made with STEAM. I have no idea why there would be a difference, unless the GOG version is behind or ahead of Steam in version releases.

hi, thank you for writing the latest version but the credit function does not seem to work with the GOG version of the game.
All other non ship features worked.
I have downloaded the older trainer to use on the latest 42.6 5.17902W64 version dated 25th March. the command point (2) and population (4) feature work as intended but i was unable to make 1 and 3 work.
in the latest trainer, released 1st april, only the credit (1) function does not work, meaning there are new changes to the credits. i have tried multiple ways to get it work in different screens, still fail
i am happy to provide the lastest GOG version if required.

the .exe is useless as the game creates code in random memory on the fly. Does the GOG version say 42.6
I am guessing this "GOG" version is the unprotected "release" of the game and possibly our trainer is several versions ahead of it.

we looked at it and ultimately couldn't modify it properly without problems in the game. it isn't a simple thing to modify this. each of those checkboxes do different things and either add or subtract a 'total' as well as set up things within the game that contradict each other and cause the game to freeze up.. it isn't as easy as it sounds.

I personally had to edit a DLL file to give myself 1600 race points, so i can understand the difficulty of adding a trainer option for it.
Though i can send the file to you if you like, or i can send it to someone that can add it onto the site, so i don't have to email it to everyone.
