Rise of the Tomb Raider Message Board  

So the edit system ate my post.

I have tried the last 4 trainers posted with the latest Rise of the Tomb Raider version from Steam (v1.0 build 647.2_64 according to the RotT launcher). The game is not detected by older versions of the trainer. The Windows Store version detects the game but none of the cheats I tried actually worked:
* No reload
* Give resources
* Float mode
* Unlock weapons - this gave me an outfit, experience, and several messages that weapons were unlocked but they actually weren't.

I disabled Windows Firewall, ran the game as administrator (the trainer prompts for this), and have tried across multiple reboots. I've run other trainers successfully.

tested all options working 100%

20 minutes wasted.

likely something is blocking your trainer

I found the issue. The problem is that I'm running as a standard Windows user, not an administrator.

Per the CheatHappens troubleshooting documentation I ran the trainer first. It prompted me for admin credentials, which I provided. Then I ran the game with "Run as Administrator" using the same admin credentials. I got the error I described: "Cannot Find Game"

When I switched to my admin account and ran the CheatHappens trainer then the game with "Run as Administrator" it worked fine.

What's noteworthy is the RotTR trainer is the only one of the 3 CheatHappens trainers I've tried that triggered a UAC prompt automatically.

My suggestion is that you investigate what's special about the CheatHappens RotTR trainer (and probably others at CH) that cause this incompatibility with standard Windows user accounts.

I also suggest you update your troubleshooting documentation to include this potential fix - run with a Windows Administration user account NOT a Standard Windows user.

Also worth noting that the Windows Store version of the CheatHappens trainer found the game just fine running as an elevated normal user (AKA "run as administrator" from a normal user account). Didn't train anything but I assume that's because it wasn't for the Steam release.

Really seems like something is special with the Steam version.

Whenever I use the language xp increase options I am seeing the increase as intended but I've found the language skill to then get stuck at full of a certain level. In this case Mongolian is stuck at 2 and Russian at 3. Also the game doesn't recognise that the language skill is at the indicated level. Any ideas of how to get around this? I've tried changing the options to -25/-100 to see if I can reset them, but they get stuck at full xp and that level.

Temporarily disable/uninstall all antivirus,
firewall and other security software.

Right click and choose "Run as Administrator"
on trainer and game.

Make sure trainer version matches game
version and distribution.

no idea. honestly, I saw no use of the language portion of the game either. maybe it was a way to make you explore more. But it seems like everyhing you can use and do in the game had nothing to do with the language level

Your quote proves my point. The site's troubleshooting states:
'Right click and choose "Run as Administrator" on trainer and game.'

The trainer does not work when the account logged into Windows is a Standard User, regardless of whether the trainer is "run as administrator".

Running the trainer with a Windows account set to "Adminstrator" in the User control panel is the only way it detects the Steam version.

The troubleshooting instructions do not address what privileges the base account has one way or another.
