Sucks you got such a bad experience, I have already poured like 115 hours into it, and still loving it, and btw this is a record for me given that most playtime I usually get out of games is 20 hours max. The AI is sometimes rather annoying yes, sneaking isn't a viable option as they can discover you when they shouldn't, mods will fix it so I'm not too worried meanwhile the supermutant problem I got solved with a mod on the nexus called real world damages.

I'm not sure but I think the beta patch fixes this problem.

I've been working on an autohotkey solution (I always forget to Unload it) that has solved most of my problems; it does toggle the numlock, so when done I have to remember to toggle the NumLock and stop the script. Found out you shouldn't remap the arrow keys outside of the game.
Also now E is partially remappable; I still don't understand it fully. But I've played a lot and cheating it up is the only enjoyable way to get around in this game, the balance is boffo and nades are nukes and pistols shoot spaghetti, and must-have power armor is a pain! The console is my friend and bat files keep me going.
My intention is to explore as much as possible to expose the entire game, and then go back and try to be successful within the game's parameters. That way I will have extracted $60 of fun out of it the hard way.
    Thanks.
    p.s.
if the one other person that ever reads this wants the lefties ahk file, let me know.

    - Pablo-Diablo:
thanks - yes and no; you can change the in-world "E" to another key, but it's still hardwired for containers, etc. PAIN in the butt. But yes, the last time I edited my ahk file I did notice a change in the key mapping availability in-game, which also solved a workshop scrolling issue I caused by remapping an arrow key.

Stupid interface: tab/esc/E/R/Enter ALL are used for different things and interchangeably - get out of the workshop by keying ENTER??? etc.
And my -goodness - the LOAD times! Start the game, click continue and go make breakfast!
Anyway, cheating it up to a playable level is the only way to go.
Thanks. I'm learning to enjoy it more.
