I just checked recently and Mafia 2 is no longer being sold through steam. The reason I read in the Mafia 2 Forums on Steam is that the licensing for the music has run out and so the game can no longer be sold through steam. I guess you could still buy it on disk from Amazon.com and I assume you could still install the game using Steam.
Same happened with Godfather II, if you own the games you can forever install them, but they can't be bought again.
Yeah one of the hitmas games was not allowed to be sold because of the same. But that was sorted. Hopefully this issue can be fixed quickly. You could probably get the game on Origin.

Hmm not sure what EA are thinking. But they have removed the Godfather seires out of Legacey section to.....
