Lets get this going to help others collate information.

Firstly we can collect hidden Vault-Tec Lunchboxes... I opened one and got a small fanfare from it... like a party whistle and some confetti.

Guessing we need to collect a fair bit of them or find them all to get something special.

Also keep an eye out for legendary enemies, they drop high level equipment, one gave me a machete that is kick ass, and a piece of armor with +1 Perception and Intelligence. However they are hard to kill, so try and get them near mines etc.

Also the biggest help for those unsure about building, pick up as much scrap as you can, yes they have weight but without them you will not be able to upgrade your settlement etc.

For example, cans give metal, brooms give wood, flags/pillows give cloth etc.

EDIT: Forgot to say the lunchbox I found was in Concord's speakeasy building. One of the few you can enter.

I will post discoveries myself.

People would have noticed at your home settlement you can scrap pretty much the unusable buildings etc.

When you do set up the Metal Shack, add doors, and dump all your scrap there in between journeys.

With the right perk you can scrap weapons and armor too from the floor.

Hoping Bethesda patches us the ability to scrap from the inventory instead.

Also a handy thing...

Took me a while, but if you build 2 fan powered generators near the bridge and you can build a water purifier near them and hook them up, you will get +30 water for the settlement and the ability to drink from the river itself.

Man... this sounds like a lot of work..

lol I just want to shoot stuff, I wish they gave us 'people' that can do all this for us. Like we order them to build something and they do it.

Like warcraft or command and conquer you know?

The better your settlement the more income etc you will get.

You can have shops, have some of your settlers make ammo..

Plenty of choices.

And you can set up little guard posts through the waste land for yourself.

I'm about 5 hours in and I haven't figured out how to make beds yet. I havent been able to build anything. Its all foreign to me.

Am I crazy or do you not get NPC compass markers anymore? It feels hard to sneak about when IDK where people are, not at all like all the other recent BGS games where all NPCs show up as a blip on the compass.

I have 10 perception so IDK what else I would need to get them to show...
