Windows 7 (64bit) here.

I can press F1 to and hear the trainer is activated.

But pressing NUMPAD 1-9 and nothing happens.

No idea, guess the game is different on Windows 7. You can ask the game devs about it.

I've got Win7 64 bit and the trainer works.

Run first the trainer as an administrator, and then the game.
And make sure your anti-virus is not blocking the trainer.

Some options do not seem to work. It appears that hull, shields, boost, and overheat options are not being applied. I am not sure if it is something I may have done.

What's the file name for the steam version? I've usually gotten the trainer to work by renaming the GOG executable to the steam executable.
