Anyone else failing to install update KB3093266? From what I am reading this is a very widespread issue, and the problem is that until this one installs, I can't install any other updates that my PC needs. Microsoft is keeping quiet, and I don't understand why they don't just release a stand alone installer, which has fixed issues like this in the past. Any thoughts?

You can try to see if DISM may help fix some broken stuff:

Press Windows key + X and click onCommand Prompt (Admin). Kindly provide the administrative password, if prompt appears.
Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and click Enter.
Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and click Enter.
Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and click Enter.

You can also try resetting the Windows Update components as well:

Also I checked my logs and it shows that was successfully installed for me on the 9th. There have been many others that have reported failure for this update though.

I found an offline installer here: Link However it states that the update is already installed?!?! If that is the case then why does Windows continue to tell me it failed to install and not allow other updates to come through. Every time I boot up, the notification center states that it didn't install. PS I tried your commands in the prompt, but no luck.

Update: I finally got the offline installer working, and when attempting to shut down it states that it is working on updates, but when it reboots it goes straight into Windows without finishing the install. Same issue as the online installer. Any ideas anyone?

@Neo7 I fixed the issue. I found out that this update changes some things in the start menu, so I ran sfc /scannow, then uninstalled Stardock Start10 and it installed like a champ.
