Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Message Board  

I modded my heroism to 100k from about 15k to see if there is a difference in stats of the soldiers, and it seems there's no discernible difference. I am still getting mostly Es and Ds, with a few Cs and only 1 or 2 Bs per outpost. Do I need to increase the level of my scope some more? Of maybe I need to increase heroism the old fashioned way until the circle fills after a mission?

As far as I can tell after finishing most story and side missions, the stats of the soldiers you scan in the field increase with your overall progress and how 'well' you play. Heroism has an effect on the amount and the level of volunteers that join your base after important story missions. But that is also, in some regard, influenced by your overall progress. Just keep playing story missions with high rankings. When I go out in the field, most soldiers have at least one 'S' in their stats.
