Well believe it or not, despite my screen name, I am most likely more Irish than you are☺ Nevertheless, I can't stand the hypetrain that is around McG and am hoping he gets his teeth knocked in. I understand that people want to take after Sonnen to run their mouths to try to sell a ppv but ugh, I just can't stand to listen to this dude.
That being said, should be a fun night of fights!
I think Connor will do better against Chad than he would have done against Aldo but I see it as a pretty even fight going in.
I also like Robbie to beat Rory again. These will be great spectator fights. Can't wait. I've posted about MMA before but never got any replies.
It will be a good fight and the odds makers are calling it fairly even. I went with CM because of my disdain McG but also because of the fact that CM has been wrestling for as long as McG has been alive. Many fighters from across have big problems with strong wrestlers from the US.
As Aldo said, "the Kings court has it's King(Aldo), it's prince(Mendes) and the lowly court jester(Mcgregor)". I still think that will be the case after next weekend.

I also like Robbie against Rory. I think he has looked more than fantastic and can't rule him out. Though the bookies have him as an underdog to McD, I have thrown my chips on RL.

I don't know if anyone would be interested, but the ufc site has a free "you pick-em" league for the fights. You can set up a group so you can "compete" against your friends. If there were a few of us fans on here who wanted to participate, I would be glad to start a Cheat Happens league

Irish is from my mothers side. I tend not to watch or listen to all the *build up* before fights. That does not interest me. Its when they get in the octagon thats what interests me.
Both are preforming well. Time will tell.
Sure, I'd be down for the pick 'ems if there were enough other players involved. I wrestled in high school and have seen every major UFC event since 1995.
Easy on the abbreevs, Vlad, Conor and Chad are both C.M.
Yeah, Chad's a helluva wrestler and it will be Conor's first shot at a wrestler of such a high caliber. Conor is extremely accurate and has incredibly fast reflexes. Those are tough to quantify but are factors just the same. Watch any of his recent fights and his strikes sometimes seem to come out of nowhere as opponents are seen stumbling after an exchange.
It's hard to believe Robbie is still fighting at such a high level considering how long he's been around. And without the use of steroids, too. Rory is like a GSP clone but I don't think he's reached his peak yet.
Coupla other fights have me salivating. Rockhold vs Weidman would be a classic. The other fight I hope gets made soon is Jacare vs Yoel Romero. Actually, any pairing of those four fighters would be a can't-miss fight.
Exciting times for MMA, especially the UFC. What kills me is the Conor vs Aldo fight had the most marketing of any fight in UFC history. They went around the world and made 10 major stops, then Aldo has to pull out. Dana White said that's the fifth time Aldo has had to pull out of a title fight. SMH.
Now that the UFC has dealt with the steroid issue, the next biggest problem they have are athletes getting injured before fights.

Those future match-ups look great and I like you, have not missed a card in years. I tell you who I have been impressed with, the muay thai champ from Poland. While the division is not deep with talent, the striking clinic she has been putting on has been fun to watch.
