Well, YMMV, but personally, I like it right where it's at. Even at a million, you'll still die from time to time. You might fall off something (if not using F8) or you just get busy in some fights and something nails you when you're not watching and down you go. Not very often but it happens.

Using the trainer I think it's more fun to set difficulty on one of the two hardest settings to get the best fights. I didn't like always using the hardest difficulty as it rewards less XP. Of course there's an option to add XP as well.

As always please forgive me if this is somewhere else in the thread, tried looking but didn't see it. Using the GOG version patched to 1.08 and while trainer gives the upgrade points as advertised they don't seem to affect the underlying ability. I've maxed out Axii but can't convince anyone water is wet. Am I doing something wrong? anyone else have this issue. Thanks.

Did you make sure you equip the skill on the right once you put points into it, and if you did and it still does not work you are not alone. It is a very finicky skill (at least in my experience). However, I found a few tips searching google that involved editing a file and that worked for me. I can't remember exactly where I found it or where it was now, but just search for Axii secondary not working or something along those lines.

There was a patch one or two days ago that rendered the trainer unusable.

I'm still playing with it, having no problems, and far as I can tell, it's still version 1.08. I'm playing a GOG version but I just looked at Steam's and they're still showing 1.08 too.

What version is yours and where did you get the game? And what happens when you try and use the trainer?

I'm playing the steam version. From the discussion forums, there was a small 13.5 MB update on Sept. 4th to fix an issue with Steam achievements not popping. I believe that was enough to throw everything out of whack.

Well, I see GOG has another patch now - 1.08.4. The one I had previously was 1.08.2 so something is new. It's cumulative for all patches.

Weirdest thing just happened. I tried the trainer and only like 3 options worked. I restarted my PC and now they all work again. I dunno. Beats me.

Ok, I took your approach and things seem to be working again. Sorry, false alarm!
