Guess the "stringent" pricing policy Valve promised doesn't exist.

I guess I will no longer be using Steam Workshop to get my mod fix.

omg that is fudging funny as heck. That said I agree that player policing is a good idea to a point as I support the free market system they are trying for but at the same time valve is an intermediary so when there are complaints they should have a policy in place for refunds but instead it's straight up you buy it and it breaks your pc well too bad your out of your money. If they had atleast a policy for disputes then I would not be as against this system after deeper thought. As with free market stupid **** just won't sell to anyone but the stupid.

I'm still somewhat optimistic. Apple and Google weren't so hot at first either, y'know?

My response to the argument that mod creators should be supported for their work is that before this announcement, they weren't doing it for the money. They were doing it because they loved the game and had the skills to create something to add to the experience. I whole-heartedly believe there should be a way to easily 'tip' modders that create awesome mods, but modding absolutely should not be turned in to a business. Now you will have people who don't necessarily care about the game shoveling out crap just to get a quick buck. And when their reputation tanks for putting out said crap they'll just create a new account with a new name and release another 20 slightly modified daggers in the hope of again getting a quick buck off people who can't control their wallets.
