Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) Message Board  

ever since STeam did that small patch the ther day i cant play SP or online for more than bout 10-20 mins then i get GTAV has stopped working, once even got BS of death. any1 else have this issue and any ideas on a fix? worked fine b4 the patch that update STEAM did. with or w/o trainer makes no difference.

Not sure if this will help but I am also getting crashes, but at different times. Sometimes I get a crash 30 minutes into playing or after 2 hours of playing. Sometimes it's at random times and areas and sometimes it's at the same place at the same time over and over (I.e same area or point in the middle of a mission) For the crashes that happen at the same area/mission if I go do another mission and come back to the mission that crashed the crash will no longer happen and I can finish the mission. It's really weird and happens several times a day.

I used to get a error message but now my screen just turns white and I get a message that the game has stopped working.

I have latest drivers for nivdia.

GTX970 gpu

I5 2500 cpu
16gb RAM
Windows 7 with all updates installed

No other games have issues.

turn off steam overlay and switch to direcx 10.1 or 10 , if not lower grass on medium , turn full screen borderless

Seems to work better now but I didn't buy a GTX970 for Direct X 10...Hopefully Rockstar sorts this out. Switching to direct x 10.1 and didn't crash at all so its something with this game with Direct X 11.

being an oldtimer, not that puter savy, so how do i pick diretx 10 to play?
