I understand these game is not for everyone. But these game has an amazing soundtrack, And also the devs have never been douche bags unlike some other devs *Glares at Phil Fish*. They are silent people who stay out of the public eye.

I remember in these one interview about people pirating there games, here's what one them said, "I don't really what people to pirate Hotline Miami. But I understand if they do. I have been broke the last couple of months. It sucks".

And I understand these game is unforgiving but that's what makes it unique. Its based off the concept of trail and error so of course you are going to get a hardcore game based off that concept alone.

I really do wish more people play these game without using trainers, that's the problem I had with dark souls. It ruins your experience.(but it is useful for testing builds though but that's it)

So why hate it, if you can't handle it, So you should just beat it.

I think that the mechanics of this game is so laughably simple... I don't understand how it is so popular..

you have a 'map' where there is placed several people with random guns and several people with random melee weapons. EVERY LEVEL IS THE SAME. decide which direction to go, die 100 times trying to kill them in the correct order.

to me this is an iphone app for $1.99...

the story, I have NO IDEA what I just watched.. besides the obvious gratuitous murdering and killing, and the occasional non-needed rape scene of freshly killed people, it plain made zero sense to me.

maybe I am getting too old and like NEW TECHNOLOGY with NICE GRAPHICS and GAMEPLAY and STORYTELLING of SUBSTANCE too much.

    that's my view on it.

I understand the hardcore element or whatever, but it could have been robots or 1000 other things and the story made absolute no difference in the repetitive gameplay.

the shock value is gone, so basically this is a bash someone or shoot someone before they shoot you with 8 bit pixel graphics from Atari 2600 days..

that's my view.. and you are correct, this game isn't for me.. the fact that the developers 'coded' this in gamemaker pretty much sums up everything as well..

if I cared about the characters, liked the story, or saw anything remotely unique each new level or whatever I'd continue to play it. but to win a game like this just to say I beat it is a waste of my time.

Well at least you are honest about your opinion. But you have to understand that not every developer has the money or resources to code it on different engines.

there is no correct order. reason why is because each player reacts differently to certain situation's and each characters have their own ability(one can roll, they other only uses his fist and another uses nonlethal weapons or methods to deal with enemy's). The word you are looking for is strategy.

The story on each level takes place in different timelines. So of course it would be confusing. There is factions within the story who have questionable goals. One faction is they original who just go around killing organize crime groups or even random people based around anonymous phone calls hints the name. Another is an anti communist/Russian group who would go around killing Russian citizens and the mafia.

And also the rape scene can be avoided in the beginning of the game. That level was the prelude before the events of the game and it's also fake/staged and non intentional.

Repetitive gameplay is what most games have espically in these day and age where many devs don't take the risk(examples battlefield 4 and battlefield hardline the mod that cost $60), weather that's a bad thing or good thing is up to your judgement on certain games. And I am saying that on a neutral standpoint for certain games

I can understand beating these game is waste of time for you. But getting high grade's on each level with low number of deaths is not and some people consider that an amazing achievement. Even the payday 2 developers promoted them by releasing a dlc which spiked there popularity. And also the soundtrack which consisted songs of unpopular bands and even the developers themselves which also boosted popularity for the series. And they did all these with just two games which is a hard trial for a small developing team who used a very outdated engine with a simple concept. They characters to me have there own personality's and there questionable motives. And they story is divided into timelines in each level making relatively hard to follow or understand. But as events start to break down it leads to a bloody conclusion of of all they events that occurred before it leaving you puzzled to understand why that happened.

So that brings me to my last statement why hate it, if you fail to understand it.

What??? that statement made no sense at all even more than the ending on my first play through. Wait are you saying when you see multiple colors in the background you think about getting high on acid. I know it's a figure of speech but still that's a very bad way to explain these game.
