Did realizing the game itself is on the left leaf instead of the right freak anybody else out? It just feels all kinds of wrong opening the case, but makes sense for removing the disk. So now I just don't know how to feel about it..

Personally I don't like it. However, I do like the new design of the cases. I keep my games on a shelf and they are displayed, so I really like the fact that they are all "uniform." This may sound crazy but on the 360, not all the cases were the same. Some would be different shades of green, or different cases all together. I read online that Microsoft requires all the boxes to be the official ones made by them, so I must admit I really like that, but I do hate that they swapped sides on the disc.

The only reason they changed the side the disc is on, is simply because the designer is a left hander and they wanted to screw with all the right handers in the world.
In all seriousness though it does make more sense to keep things unified and to a set design, unlike before as the above posters mentioned having everything mismatched was a pain in the butt.

The answer is simple, flip the case over and rotate the case 180 degrees so the top of the case is now the bottom open up its now on the right.

I work for a company where customers can trade games in, it took me at least a month to acclimatize to the disc being on the other side. They just want to mess with us.
