I still recomend being wired if you can. But thats my prefrence. Just a shame I cant do it in the house I am in right now.

Thanks for the responses. I'll look for something from the makes of my wireless router first.
I wish I could connect directly but the modem is downstairs and my room is upstairs. So I have to use wireless.

Almost all routers (even crappy ones) will allow you to game comfortably. You're best bet is getting one that will live a long life and be relatively stable.

Note that I did not get this for gaming purposes. I do many backups to a server of my many devices wirelessly and the speed helps that reliability a lot. The performance on this for games is the same as the standard whatever model from NetGear (gave it away to someone so I have no idea if it still works or not).
