Can you handle getting the GTX 980? I didn't want to press it when I saw you spec the 970 since you did go for the better cpu. But with the 980 you really do have one of the best setups out there. I hadn't seen that about the 970 but it's enough to make me want nothing to do with it until the issue is addressed by NV. Do they happen to offer that EVGA Superclocked or not 780 Ti?

I still think 800-850 PS would serve you better. You asked and everybody has been saying roughly the same thing. If you end up with a 780 gpu of some sort, it uses more power than the 970/980 series.

Hey, an afterthought. The place you're buying this... ask them what if anything they know of the 970 problem. Like if there's been any fix or has it been disproven, or maybe just a bad batch. Who knows, but might be worth asking.

I hope he's not overheating, he hasn't even gotten it yet.

JK, read back a few posts, he's buying a new machine and the 970 was the spec gpu but now the 970 apparently has a memory issue.

it arrives tomorrow, i didn't manage to change GPU in time, but far as i read, and asked around on other sites, the whole 970 issue, only hits those 4k setups who wants to max out everything, and normal users, like me, won't be affected, or so i been told
