I can't really agree to that
I think the suicide mission in ME2 is the right way to end a bioware game. Because there were so many things that seemed important, You should see the investment you made during the gameplay paid off in the final battle, your friendship with certain character have actual consequences, and when you fight the final boss you know your friends are actually out there doing something that you don't have time or ability to do, that's the point of having a large and diverse inner circle, no?
The after-credit cut scene is pretty good however. Leaves much to imagination
