Not sure why it's working for me but not for you. On the bright side when you reach skyhold there is a vendor there that sells influence. I believe you can reach max from the items there and gold works well with the trainer so that shouldn't be a problem. Then if you need perk points you can just edit the ones you got from those items

When do you reach skyhold? Either way I was able to get to level 9, but even to I set the value higher it only did 4000 no matter, it's better than nothing. Now I'm level 1, cuz the trainer set me back to 99 influence but I got 99 perks now and If I can edit the value again, I should be all set.

Skyhold is fairly early in the game. It's reached at the 4th inquisitor quest line, so even if you can't get the influence value back with an edit, you will be able to bring it up with the consumables fairly shortly.

If you already reached Skyhold, easiest way to reach high influence level is infinite money, then find vendor who sells influence item (near your "gray Warder" companion) and buy alot of them. You can search for Perks value if you like..

I'm a total noob at CE and i couldn't find the value for influence, if someone could walk me through the process of finding it and messing with it for perks, that would be much appreciated
