Buried in this update is the news that the dev has deep-sixed the offline component of the game. It's not like this hasn't been reported elsewhere, but just wanted to let you know, in case you just got back from your Siberian vacation.

They had their reasons. The game would have not been as great as it would have been online. I can understand why. As when online to you subsquent to more changes happening than in OFFLINE SP which means it would be more dinamic than OFFLINE SP. Also you can still have Online SP mode.

Also note this is the only company that seems to actually be taking interest in optomising for poor internet lines. So you should be actaully taking interest in it.

There is solo play, wich is different from single player, you are still playing online, with all the markets value chaning dinamically, wars and so on. But you will only encounter NPC no players.

Then there's private group, where you can meet only people from your group.

And last online play.

all three modes are always online, to keep the same galaxy for everyone.

We already know this.

No trainer or editor can be made for the game.

And yet they still state Singleplayer on Steam store page to lure people into an online only game.

I am glad I know now. My money goes now to a game I can play if my connection goes down.

The fact that they don't have a single player, Ill be skipping on buying this game.

I know they have a solo play online play, but its just not the same for me

I didn't buy the game either. No offline was a big red flag. The game clearly had no features or systems in place for online play to make it a wise purchase. I read they had or have an update supposedly (wings?) to add group mechanics and make things more online friendly. Honestly no clue what was going on in the heads there. If they were going the Guild Wars 1/2 route you better have the expected social systems in place among some few other key basics running and solid. Totally cool with the route they chose but the game wasn't designed for it. I'm not in the habit of giving away money for games that aren't clearly finished.

Misinformed I am afraid;

It DOES have a single player
It DOES NOT have an OFFLINE mode.

You can play the entirety of E without every meeting another player if you so wanted. Or you could create a private group just with your friends.

Making the distinction between offline single player & online single player should only matter if you do not have a constant internet connection. If that is true then fair enough, although it is easily played on through wireless tethering that does make sense.

I have the game, have had it since Beta and it was released too early, however it is maturing nicely. I would honestly recommend having a look at it once PowerPlay comes out (new big patch). As it addresses most of what was mentioned.

As for social systems; it is designed to be this way. Space is a BIG empty place, it is meant to feel that way.

Ecappitell - it just sounds like you have totally missed the aim, and achievement of what the game goes for. It most likely is not the game for you, but to say they have gone wrong is a woeful, uninformed and incorrect statement based on a lack of knowledge or unwillingness to find that knowledge out
