Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Message Board  

Definitely a solid 9 from me. It's all the good parts of Assassin's Creed in a way more interesting setting with a much deeper backstory due to it being based in the Lord of the Rings universe. Even the protagonist is more believable than the past two dudes wearing tricorns. I mean a pirate? Really? Rangers, on the other hand, are BAMFs (example: Aragorn).

Anyway, lots and lots of better aspects, including the menu and it's simplicity. Still plenty of things that could have made this game even more amazing, like being able to do something with harvest plantlife (which only regains health when you pick it), or being able to do something more with your weapons (completing the 'legend of...' quests make your weapon look cooler, but that's it). Branding is super fun, but you can't do anything cool like create a legion of caragor to sweep through a stronghold.

A lot of aspects are really well done, but the map does seem small, since there aren't any buildings breaking things up a bit on the ground. Many things could be expanded upon or slightly refined.

too repetitive. Its the same all the time, kill, stealth. That's it.

At the beginning, I totally loved the nemesis system and the story. But as the game progressed it became extremely repetitive. Kill orcs, save humans there, light up a tower over here, etc.

Now that I've finally had time to play and finish most of it, I'd have to say I really liked this game. Whatever all it's not for some folks, I find it's still a lot more fun than many other highly rated titles of late. I have a blast messing with the Orcs. I did find the The Bright Lord DLC a bit more challenging, too. Sometimes there's just too many Orcs.

One thing... I believe TechOwl mentioned a minor burp in the game. Seems like there's a quick 1-2 second pause then it picks up again. Maybe once every hour or two, not game breaking, just weird.

I have plenty of rig to run the game even using the HD textures but I wonder if the cause might just be the HD textures. I wonder if players not using the HD's got the same little pause?

Trainer worked great, too. Now that Mordor's being discounted in sales it's even better. I believe paying full price for these games sometimes raises one's expectations to levels difficult to achieve. Solid 8.5 for me.

i cant wait to play this game bought it today the download for lil bit over 16$ only thing I don't like its on stream and I hate stream been downloading game now last 4 hrs still says 9hrs to go well 6hrs now but ill let u guys know have fun

Stream? Or Steam? Half a day....that's some long download.

well the size of the game is danm big so no big deal to wait for it if you wanna play the game be patient (that all i think when the download take long )
