Being dumb, stupid, old and wearing a profound memory lack...I learned something today, thanks to Vlad and Google:

"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you."

One good thing is: Microsoft (and affiliated governments) do not control all the medias: [url]zdnet.com/article/how-to-secure-windows-10-the-paranoids-guide/?tag=nl.e589&s_cid=e589&ttag=e589&ftag=TREc64629f'>Link (zdnet.com/article/how-to-secure-windows-10-the-paranoids-guide/?tag=nl.e589&s_cid=e589&ttag=e589&ftag=TREc64629f).

And this concern only the visible part of this overlapping OS.

I'm quite certain, someone will conceive a bypass to circumvent this criminal mining of personal information.

For anyone that wants a true start menu back, or is familiar with Stardock's Start8, take a look at Start10 here: Link

So after doing some experiments on my parents pc I decided to finally upgrade to Win10 and I must say I'm quite happy I did.
The upgrade process went smooth and rather fast, everything was saved and I mean everything it even saved the pattern my icons were arranged on my desktop.
Dosbox works like a charm and about 95% of the legacy windows games work too and those who dont are expected to be patched by GOG.
I found a few negligible bugs like some foreign languages arent displayed correctly on google chrome settings which has a fix already(pm me if you need it).
Beside that I think it's the smoothest OS launch ever from MS all thanks to the vast insider program.
The OS itself is gorgeous yet simple it's like they took everything that's best from 7&8 and combined it, also it runs about 30-40% faster than Win7.
The only downside is like 20 of my older trainers went out of commission but other than that I'm quite satisfied.

I'm starting to notice that my other computers are being updated to the production release and that they're trending more on the buggy side than the one I've been testing with (the test machine feels really stable which I'm unsure why). That's a bit of a worrying sign.

Glad we have 1 year to upgrade. Will give them time to work the kinks out.

The Insider Preview marches on with new stuff. If you're not feeling adventurous, you can experience it in LP format

So I am guessing the new memory compression feature which kicks in "as needed" to make your system faster, will be a moot point for most gamers who have way more memory than they need anyway.
