I get the same as well, I've tried it when the game started, after I picked up an item and after buying and selling. I can get the trainer to activate the Op. but it don't seem to do anything. But I bet if there is a way to make it work 0x90 will find it when he get the time.

Is it possible to change max carry weight via save editor, anyway?
Just asking, because that would be an amazing thing. My machinegunner just swallows tons of ammunition without even blinking. Due to "data on th fly" problem trainer isn't as effective

It's a bit more complicated than using a save-editor. You need to edit the file "Assembly-CSharp.dll"

It's complicated indeed... Not sure if I can do such a thing, but why not to try?) Need to make sure backup is done tho.

Yes it's so damn complicated a trainer other than the one on this site is already out with 999 carry weight with the press of a button.
