Well my goodness, I actually got a refund from Valve. OK, not exactly a REFUND -- heaven forbid Valve give money back -- but a store credit for a game bought that would not run. I bought COD 1 for old times' sake a few weeks ago, just to have it in my library since the old discs would no longer load in my new rig. I figured Valve would have fixed the issue because they'd never offer a game for sale that wouldn't run, right? Long story short, the game would not launch despite many fix attempts, I whined and crabbed, Steam told me to go to the same fixes I'd already tried, I whined and crabbed some more and they finally gave me a credit!

Because you didn't give up. That is the only way to go against Valve.
