AC1 is really that bad? Worse than AC3? I couldn't really stand to finish AC3. It is just so...boring. Also, it took my friend (very AC fan) a year and a half to finish the game. Normally he would beat every AC game within a month or two. Every time he pick up the controller to play AC3, he quit after 15 min.

That is your friend that is in question not the game. I played it solid getting everything for a whole week.

Just because your friend doesn't have the patience for it, does not mean it is a bad game, just he doesn't like it.

One reason why people hated AC3 because
Spoiler:

they killed off the main character. That was the biggest gripe

The rest of the game was great, it was another chance to explore fully in open areas etc since AC1. AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations didn't have that, just large cities with some open parts which was a part of a mission and not free to roam.

Whew, I've got some catching up to do. OK, AC2 for sure and the Black Flag one has always kind of intrigued me.

I'm in the same boat you are. I have not played this series either. Sometimes happens to me since I stopped buying at full retail and depend on sales down the road.

I have looked around at several sources for information and one thing seems certain; the crew here is spot-on as usual, the best of the series according to many/most is AC2 and Brotherhood. Now will be weighing the usual good sense of playing them all in order versus the hit-and-run of cherry-picking only the best of them.

Glad to get this re-reminder tho.

Didn't he survive the game? Or do you mean as in not putting him in any future titles?

Anyway most people hated him because what would seem like an extremely bland personality is actually a part of their culture, where showing emotion to strangers is seen as a weakness (there is also a reason for why he is very reluctant to handshake people he first meets, like when Mr. Revere leads him to that house for the first time)

Eedit: Don't really see the point, but might aswell, my list would be Black Flag, 3 and last Revelations. Don't really have any favorites over the rest, save for AC1 being the one I most disliked.
