I recommend you all try the original mod.

I was a big arma player before dayz came out, I caved in to my brother and bought DAYZ Standalone, without having tried the mod. I thought, what the **** is this? Still it was like you said it was addictive and fun. But for some reason, original Arma mod isnt so laggy, clunky, and is alot more playable. It´s simply, alot better, especially with friends.

Let me know if you want to play dayz or standalone I dont know many people, and well, its not exactly a game where its easy to meet people. I would love to make a clan to make game easier since its impossibly hard.

Good news for standalone is that hacks are pretty much obliterated, even proffesional hacks dont stay undetected longer then 2-3 weeks (i know cause it crossed my mind after every time i playd a whole day i died finally having a starter kit) I decided against since people who still do hack are spending 100$+ a month on it, new licenses for dayz, and hacks themselvesm they literally get banned 2-3 times a month.

Your last sentence is of one of the dark side.

You should never contemplate using any hacks at all in any MP environment, it is for people who can't play games and want to try and show off.

What Dayz was suppost to look like.
As I understand this game will be available in Alpha version next month and it will cost 20$ but the devs say that once the game is finished it's gonna be completely free, go figure..

Although I would agree with you, one thing I truly find frustrating about the game is getting together with your friends, and that mainly pertains to the spawns the game gives.

Ex: I spawn in the middle of a Forrest and my friend spawns at the beach, this issue makes it impossible for me to allocate people I want to be with while playing the game, which in all honest it sucks.

But regardless of that issue the game is fun.

Yes it's was extremely frustrating at first but then I figured it's one of the things which makes this game more realistic and a true survival game.
You'll have to learn the map and the russian town names to find your friends, also you may find a compass and use it to navigate to your friends.
I would recommend you download the "Izurvive" app on mobile, it gives you a full map and town names plus you can calculate route and the amount of time it will take you to get to a certain point.
Also I would recommend that you and your friends decide on rendezvous point which includes a lot of loot, we decided on "balota" base it contains tons of loot but it's in the south and you have a lot of running to do.
One thing that is really annoying and unrealistic is the limited spawning spots which doesnt include the south, the loot in the north is scarce and it really sucks to run 30 min just to get an AKM.
