My considered opinion over three decades of playing video games on PCs, consoles, and other computers, is that consoles are best used for media streaming.

Except these days you can build a budget HTPC which is more powerful and more useful than a console for less than a console.

My PS3 mostly is used for Netflix lol

I have GTA V which I haven't really played much of, I played The Last of US. And Lightning returns I played a bit of and that was it.

The worse part I bought a year PSN+ and some titles that I will never play on it.

Oh well :P

It's almost as crazy as the $150 (£100) I spent on Archeage

The "almost" accounts for the week or so I do nothing but play each new NHL game when it comes out.

Consoles do have their place. I found that they are perfect for anyplace that you do not want to take your laptop, such as field exercises and deployments. We would take the damn things with us almost everywhere. A little downtime and a TV, we were set. I remember playing Halo in the middle of nowhere Korea. We were in a GP Tent while it was pouring down rain and the Xbox was run into an old 20" CRT TV. One of my Marines rigged up an adapter to we could run it into that TV.

The whole reason why I purchased a Wii was for the classic NES and SNES games. Then I found a USB SNES controller and discovered emulation on the PC. I have not touched the Wii since.

Overall, I will stick with the flexibility of the PC. It has a control scheme that makes sense. Just push a button on the keyboard, not left trigger-A-press B twice, to complete an action. The mouse is more accurate than any thumb stick, reason why most PC Games do not have auto-aim. Finally, even on a moderate machine, the graphics are much better.

All games are made on PCs, every trainers too.

Consoles are limited to play games and go online, that's it.

Porting console games to PC is nonsense, as trying to put an egg back into the hen.

Consoles are made for kids and for people who find PCs too complicated.

And as linesma said, the mouse and keyboard are way better than any controllers.

Oh yeah most of them end up on PC yeah. But its that damn time scale that ticks me off.

As a point made out that Controllers are good for certain things and mouse n keyboard are good for certain things. I use contolers for driving as I dont have a wheel. Also use them for my UFC n Wrestling games.

Oh and a quick off shoot they so need to bring wrastling to the pc. It would be awesome.

This thread has gone kinda off topic from what the OP was asking. In regards to that topic. I am sure that they will add them to the list at some point, but it definitely isn't a high priority at all I am sure.
