I personally have the intrusions turned off, pvp is boring and tedious, it tends to be full of childish morons, most of the time anyway.

First thing i did too although i did note that they had an option to make it no-combative online so you can share the world but wont get shot in the face by a griefer... thought that was pretty cool.

Well, most of the PvPers you don't even notice because it is mainly hide and seek.
See it more like a random event, suddenly when you are free roaming, a notification will pop up telling you that someone is hacking you - you try to find them, kill them and that was that.
There's no invading your game and killing you, in my experience, once you are detected, you either escape or you are dead (tho I once ran over a guy I had hacked into LOL).

They can't invade when you are in a mission tho and the real PvP elements require you to want to join in.

Have you found the Aisha Taylor one yet? If you haven't you should.

I've enjoyed it as a nice little distraction from the rest of the world around you. There was one that was pretty sad too.
