This Game does not have VAC or has to Say In steam info.

The Problem is people who had an Old VAC ban on say CoD 2 or some other game, get banned from playing DS2 there is already a replay from the Devs.

Reports of some previously VAC banned players are unable to play online in Dark Souls II

We are aware of this issue and have escalated it to the relevant parties.

We will continue to update this space as we have more information.

I as well would like to know if it's safe to use a trainer for this game. With that said, no, I don't pvp, nor do I intend to. I force the game into offline mode by blocking online connectivity using my firewall.

I made two characters. One to use only in offline and one for CH purposes. I notice it connects your character to the game servers after loading the game but i also noticed in the agreement you're not suppose to use hacks online OR locally. So I'm half way scared.

Go into Steam's Offline mode after updating, DS2 has an offline mode. ^-^
If you can't get that to work, skidrow (Bad Word) has it's own version up and I'm pretty sure it doesn't connect to steam servers. haha

yes skidrow is a bad word not only becouse they do *cough* bootlegs *cough* (not preaching about piracy.) its also a bad word in denmark. im not going to say the danish word becouse its a insult, our danish brethren can confirm it.

Since there are people who give me crap for my grammar and is to lazy to check my profile I will say it here as well. I am dyslexic so give me a break as I *TRY* to spell correctly.

I've been using the trainer online to help my friend with Co-op. I haven't been banned yet. If they do ban me, I'll just buy the game again xD

You do know that VAC bans are not instant right? If the game is using VAC (regardless of whether its use is a bug or not), bans can happen weeks or months after the cheat is detected.

This delayed banning is intentional. It's to prevent those making/using cheats/bots for online games from knowing if their cheat/bot can be detected or not.

I would also caution that just because something isn't (or that matter, is) mentioned on the store page, it doesn't mean the store page is accurate.

Valve have often withheld information on 3rd party DRM until a few weeks after a game releases*. They have also kept incorrect information on Store pages for years**.

    * Most notably happened with the second Batman game. Cause a rather large number of complaints on the Steam forum.

** Happened with Far Cry 2. Despite the Securom DRM being patched out, Valve kept the DRM information on the store page for at least 2 years after the fact.

The point being, the use of VAC is either intentional and just not listed, or is intentional and has been erroneously activated. Or, it could be intentional, but Namco are now having second thoughts about it after people complained. Ultimately we will never know.

But as there is the slight risk of VAC being used regardless, it would be best to only use the trainer while offline (which is the intended use of trainers on this site anyway).

Just remember it's better to be safe than sorry. And have fun with that in mind.

I suggest first purchasing a legitimate copy of DS2 for Multi-Player then torrenting a cracked version for Single-Player for use with a Trainer. That way you aren't really breaking the law as you legitimately own the game.

And you don't get banned from their servers for using a trainer(assuming one gets released)

Win/Win for both the player AND the dev.

Edit: I done this with many games I own on steam due to cheat protection in steam's version. EG: Realms of Ancient War (owned on steam but torrented version required for cheating purposes.

    [Edited by Hoover1979, 4/24/2014 11:13:04 PM]

Purchasing a legit copy of a game does not legally entitle you to pirate it.
When you resort to software piracy you not only download the game but share it as well (it's the essence of P2P), which is still illegal.

Actually for US Citizens us law allows for the use of drm bypassing aka cracks if the drm in play prohibots the proper use of the software or device (for blu ray etc.) So if you own the game and say securom won't let you play do to having a dvd burner as a second disk drive. You may legally download and use a crack to play the game. The same would apply for offline play if you are unable to use the product in single player due to no internet.

However as this would technically be warez legal or not I will not comment further on this subject due to site rules. I also am way off the OP's intended subject so there is that too.
